Dr. Hagelin is President Emeritus and Distinguished Professor of Physics at Maharishi International University (MIU), the world’s flagship institution of Consciousness-Based education.

At MIU, Dr. Hagelin conducted and published groundbreaking research confirming the existence of long-range “field effects” of consciousness generated through collective meditation.

Highlights:

  • Directed a $6 million, two-month study in Washington, D.C., where 4,000 meditating experts reduced violent crime by 26%.
  • Oversaw MIU’s exponential expansion of online offerings, master’s and doctoral programs.

The David Lynch Foundation

Founded by filmmaker David Lynch, this foundation supports Consciousness-Based education initiatives in schools and for at-risk populations. Dr. Hagelin was the founding president of the DLF and served in that capacity for ten years, shaping the future directions of the organization

Programs include:

  • Quiet Time meditation in schools (scholarships for students).
  • Stress-reduction programs for veterans, survivors of abuse, the homeless, incarcerated youth and adults, and Native American communities.
